Housesitting Heaven, or Ruth's Pretend Resort

Hi all. And many greetings of the day unto you. I'm coming to you from... hold on for this one because I'm only doing it once and you're just going to have to work it out on your own .... from my dear friend's sister's in-law's house. They literally live 4 blocks from me but it's an entire world away. Let me give you the short tour.

I (and I believe Kathrynwould too ) feel very welcomed upon entering because from the front door you see:

You just know you've found a happy home when there's a sheep waiting for you in the living room.

The house is full of lovely features, but let me introduce you to this morning's bliss. I got up, nested in "my stitching corner"

and proceeded to stitch and watch Wimbledon

Post tennis coverage for the day I was able to view BBC America for the first time and got to enjoy...

Yup, Doctor Who! Such bliss.

My friend Judy said I might have over-packed/thought on the stitching, but as a Certified Mood Stitcher I need to be prepared for everything. Just for the chuckle I decided I'd unpack all the stitching stuff I brought and show you how right Judy was, but I ran into a stumbling block--

Namely, I ran out of enthusiasm for the "everything part." LOL So the fabric on the back of the couch is merely a sample of what I have along. And I took an auxiliary shot of the Misc Accoutrements Chair

Yeah, I possibly overpacked in the stitching. Oh well, I'll not run out of things to do!

More later -- I need to go check the mail. May you all be as blissful as me this weekend!

Oh I love that sheep! It looks real! Now I want one...LOL

Yeah, I think you may have overpacked just a tad on the stitching. But at least you're prepared for anything! :-)

Hi Ruth,

LOL, yes I think you might have packed a bit but you didn't let us know how long you'll be there so maybe you didn't pack enough? :-)

Loved the sheep in the living room!

Glad to see I'm not the only one who packs for mood stitching! :-)

Oh my goodness - how big was the bag that this amazing potpourri poured out of? I'm still laughing. Read back over your blog lately and you deserve a standing ovation. Your desk is a major accomplishment. Way to go! And your stitching - just lovely!!1

I'm sorry I won't get to see you next weekend. I was really looking forward to that myself. Well, there is always LosCon and we WON'T be running a party. Stitchy evenings! And I don't even have a real job for Denvention (just sitting the fan table for Australia). I think we can retire from active fandom after this one! (OK, except for doing the Program Book for LosCon.)

No Mandala is not daunting. Right now it is my refuge from the convention, which IS daunting. I had to step away from the convention altogether yesterday after the fourth program participant bailed (out of only 40) without even telling me. He tried to get a refund from Registration for his free membership. Jerk!

We were out to the AV rental place today and even 105 is not so bad. I only worry over 110. On the 11th we will be back on Maui, which actually seems a lot hotter because of the 90% humidity.

Enjoy the housesitting. Ah, the blessings of SPACE.

Enjoyed your post and the peek into the assortment of projects that are traveling with you. I tend to take too many projects as well (wouldn't want to arrive somewhere and not have the perfect project at the ready), but I usually end up with somewhere between two and four. It does look as though you're set for the next month! Enjoy your uninterrupted stitching time!

OMG, that sheep is adorable.
You certainly are prepared!

You're hilarious! I love the overpacking. I went to my BFF's house for less than 48 hours and I brought 2 big WIPs and about 4 smalls. Didn't get much done, but at least I was prepared!!

Here's to being prepared for every mood!!!

Thank you for the comment on my blog and nice to meet you and return the visit Ruth.

How can you possibly pack too much stitching stuff, nothing worse than finding you have not packet something you need.

Love the entrance to the house.

I don't stitch thaqt much in a year let alone a weekend! What I want to see is how many clothes you packed compared to all that stash! LOL

BTW - Your desk does look SO much better. Just one question - would it pass the Jim test? LOL

Wow, I think you kind of did overpack the stitching! Lol!

Love the sheep. I'd be happy in a house with a sheep greeting me too! It looks so real.

I think we're going to have to start calling you George Costanza, "mood" stitching! ("I call this morning mist." See "The Trip.")

I'm still chuckling about the packing...well you never know what you need.

The house looks very inviting.

We have been watching the tennis as well ..I have a TV by my computer so that kills 2 birds with one stone. I can blog while The commercials are on.
Have a good day.

You can never overpack the stitching bag. Better to have too many projects to pick from than not enough.

Hello Ruth,

Thank you for leaving such a sweet comment on my blog! I just discovered yours. I will read more later, but I like your garden and I love that stitching corner of yours, it looks so cosy!

Have a nice weekend & greetings, Carolien
