Thank you all for your kind comments on my wing. As is so often the case, I made accomplishments and moved on to something else. Sigh. No sticktoitivness. But the long-lost Quaker a la 6 Mains came out to play this weekend --
Yes, pathetic as far as how much got done, but it was kinda warm.
I also started the next kimono and got the mountain, the branches, and the beginning of the gold background put in--
I think I'm going to actually do 2 of these. one for my friend and one for her mom. The friend will have the pink blossoms in the trees and her mom will get purple blossoms as they are apparently her favored color.
I am happy to note that I have boxes! Don't get overly excited. I have yet to do address labels. You know, my whole mailing life has been thoroughly upset by the post office moving my office building's mail pick up time from 5pm to 2pm. It just throws off my whole day. Yes, I'm very silly that way.
Speaking of silly, here's a weirdness for you. Possibly some of you do this as well so maybe I'm not the only bonkers one --- If I have a headache, sore throat, or other common-ish illness I will always find myself moping and thinking over and over "gosh my head/throat/shoulder hurts" but it usually takes me complaining about said pains to someone and them asking "when was your last batch of asprin/advil?" for me to actually think of taking said pain killer. Honestly, it's like the sickness short circuits my brain. There I sit not feeling well but it never dawns on me that I could do something about it. lol
On a very happy note, I'd like to introduce you to my buddy Verna who turns 99 tomorrow. Her family hosted a celebration this weekend in her honor.
We should all look this good at 99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always have to ask James, "Did you take some Tylenol?" Luckily for him, his answer is now often, "Yes." For years he refused to take any kind of pill for anything. Now that he is on a bunch of medications (and can't take aspirin or ibuprofen -- interferes with his rat poison), he does remember to take pain reliever when he needs it.
Ah, how nice to see an old WiP. I have a few of those that I am conveniently ignoring. Heck, today I am ignoring almost all stitching. I spent six hours on the phone with DirecTv . . . and still no tv.
I do the same thing...I can have a killer headache, yet it doesn't really dawn on me to actually take some Advil or something.
PS...I haven't forgotten about the 7 Things meme...I will be answering it sometime today! :-)
Your quaker piece is very pretty ;)
Looking good, no matter how slow it goes! I put off taking medicine too long sometimes, so I can sympathize!!
99, seriously?! WOW!!
Niek is the same about actually taking something for an illness ... he'll mope around and look pathetic, but it seems to be totally beyond him to actually do anything about it, like take an aspirin or lay down. LOL.
Great needlework pics!
The wip's are looking good. And who are you to post on my blog about how I stitch fast? With your most recent finish, you have 29 finishes for 2008 so far, I've only finished 18 so far this year.
Hugs to you. :-)
Beautiful stitching, your WIPs are very pretty!
Wow I hope I look that great at 99! I have a friend whose Mum is still stitching on evenweave at 92!!! I'm going to grow up to be like her!
Wow - Verna doesn't look a day over 79!
